In April 2007 they made the switch to downloadable content, but for some reason they didn’t retroactively change the old content. As I write this review 14 episodes are fully downloadable with the rest streaming. It’s not many, but the videos are so good that it’s worth it. They offer each in five resolutions with the lowest being a terrible quality video for dialup users and the highest being an amazing HD resolution that will absolutely blow your mind. It takes a long time to download the HD clips, but it’s totally worth it. They’re so beautiful I know I’m going to be saving them for a long time to come.
While not quite measuring up to the level of the downloadable content the streaming videos are remarkably well implemented. Each is offered in two resolutions: 320×240 and 640×480. In addition, there are three bit rates to choose from that determine the quality of the individual clip. The higher your connection speed the clearer the picture will be. All episodes also come with a picture gallery that has 200-250 shots. The pictures are medium resolution, so they’re not ideal. Still, they’re good enough to act as a nice warm-up while you wait for your content to download.
My favorite update was added way back when the site was first launched.
